I am still searching for the perfect online gradute degree I had previously inquired to those on here about a geoscience graduate degree...and a lot of people helped out (Thanks!) Right now I wanting to explore an online, distance learning, etc... Master's degree in GEOLOGY. I have received information on two schools: Emporia State University and Mississippi State University. Both are good schools from what i can tell (they both have Geology and Geosciences Master Degrees) But I am sure there has to be others here in the US. I have searched and haven't been successful. Can anyone help me out in my search? Thanks Jay
In my searching I found no "distance learning" geology degrees, there are some geologiccal engineering but that is a very different area. There are several in ecology or ecosystems or simialr. There are also some in geography and even geomorphology. The Emporia program is: http://www.emporia.edu/lifelong/programs/grad.htm#physical Which I would not class as geology (for what it is worth I have a minor in geology from my undergrad days). The Miss State programs are in http://msstate.edu/dept/geosciences/distance.html Again not what I would call geology. There are a lot of programs like these, but I do not know of any DL geology programs
Rhodes might be worth a shot. Maybe. See the Departmental Web Page http://www.ru.ac.za/academic/departments/geology/ for further details, particularly on the contents of courses.
Hmmmm - I can not find any distance learning colleges in geology. In fact, I looked up many different B&M schools and didnt find any that offered on-line courses. I wish you GREAT luck - keep us informed on your search!! peACE, ACE
the only one I found was what I originally had discovered a while ago: Emporia State University's Distance Learing Master's Degree. Well......that is that. So now is a decision needs to be made. A Master's degree in either Atmospheric Sciences or Geological Sciences. Oh boy......I'll keep you all posted. Thanks though.
