Looks like there is a recognition meeting being held by CHEA on November 22 (http://www.chea.org/pdf/Public%20Meeting%20Announcement.pdf#search="IACBE"). Also it is ablout time that they revised their website (IACBE - International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education).
I presented at the 2010 IACBE Conference earlier this year (a comparison of the DBA degree with the PhD in business). The IACBE leadership seemed extremely confident that they would have a positive experience in November and receive CHEA recognition at the meeting next January. The person spearheading the project was the founder of both the IACBE and ACBSP.
From the IACBE website: Lenexa, Kansas, USA (January 2011) – The Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) are pleased to announce that, at its January 24, 2011 meeting, the Board of Directors of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) granted recognition to the IACBE.
Now it looks like all three specialized business accrediting agencies, AACSB, ACBSP and IACBE are recognized. That will be very good news for the IACBE accredited institutions.
I came in to post about IACBE/CHEA, but you "scooped" me by three minutes! One of the great things about DI is the ability to get up-to-the-minute "degreeinfo."
The news release from the IACBE website; however, not yet listed on the CHEA website IACBE - CHEA News
