I was actually just browsing DL programs at East Carolina. I've been a bit at odds this past year about what to do, where to take my education. AND as I was browsing programs I saw this MA in English for Technical and Professional Communication. It was different, but I have tech writing in my past, and I just couldn't seem to put it away. SO I applied. Today, I got the go ahead to sign up for courses for next semester. I'm so excited -- nervous -- but excited! ECU TPC program
mcdirector, My wife is an ECU alumnus. She graduated back in ’93 with a BS in Speech Language and Audiology. She finished her graduate at ODU. The B&M school is great, I’m interested in your experiences with the DL school though. I’m assuming you are a NC resident, based on the tuition rates. Congratulations and good luck -John
Thought I would post some other similar programs for you to review: http://www.distance.nau.edu/Programs/DegreeDetails.aspx?degreeID=86 http://techcomm.usu.edu/grad/ http://www.english.ttu.edu/tc/PhD/PhDhome.htm Good luck on your program. Kevin
Thanks Fed for the links. I did a google when I found this program at ECU so I had seen a couple of those. Here's another if anyone is interested: New Jersey Tech I get in-state tuition at ECU ClepN -- my oldest son almost went to ECU but ended up at UNC. ECU has quite a few distance programs now. Some are completely online like this one and some are only partially online. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
I have looked at ECU in the past. I like the number of options that they offer in DL. If I remember correctly, they are one of the few U.S. RA colleges which offer an honest-to-goodness bachelor degree in communications by DL.
Congratulations! ECU is a fine school, and I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job in the program. Best of luck!
