I would do a wuick search for others TUI experience, and perhaps specific field you are looking in - I have seen both good and bad comments.

On the accreditation issue, I have not seen an update lately, so I figure they are still on probation.

You did not say what you are using it for, is a DL only school what you are looking for, some say (and I tend to agree), a school with a B&M presence has less stigma.

Uhhmm... I'm the troublemaker? I have been posting here for a long time, and I think I have provided at least some good information about distance education.

You, on the other hand, have made a grand total of 10 posts here, most of which were political diatribes. And, given the user name you chose, that was clearly your intention.

Wrong. In addition to my comment, I suggested that he/she search the archives here. That's certainly better than the "I think I read somewhere that this school is great..." type of advice.

If I recall correctly, any political comments I made were in off topic forums. And I never started a political thread. I only posted a few opinions on a very long off-topic forum thread started by someone else. You are the one who brought politics to this forum. I purposely ignored your "chickenhawk" insult because I did not want to turn this thread in to a political debate.

So, lets sum up.... YOU started trouble with an uncalled for and unsolicited tip, and YOU brought politics (by way of insult) to this thread. I just read through a few of your old posts, and it appears as if this is a trend for you.

What state are you from again? I live in NJ, not too far from Camden.

What, are you going to come try to kick my ass because I pointed out that some people in academia are overly sensitive to gender-specific terms?

Fine. Why don't you send me a private message and I will be happy to provide my address.

If I recall correctly, ANY comments you made were of a political nature. Why are you here? When have you posted anything that contains legitimate information about distance education?

    Get real ;)

Real funny Hampton. I asked what state you lived in. I didn't ask for your home address. That would be silly.

Austin, Texas, but not your typical Texan.

I will ask again: Why are you here?

If you are primarily concerned with political polemics, there are plenty of sites for that. This is not one of them.

Clearly, you are much more concerned with advancing a political agenda than with discussing legitimate education issues.

    Dennis is correct.

What's your phone number, Dennis? I think we should have a discussion.

    Wrong!

I have only been a registered member for a week or two. In my short time here, I have responded to 2 posts. One of those was off topic political, and one the other was very much distance education related. I have also sent PMs to several members.

By not your "typical Texan", I meant stereotypical Texan.

    What?!? You'll ask again?

You'll ask again?? You asked the first time at 6:44 degreeinfo time. Before giving me a chance to respond, you asked again (in an insulting manner) a whole 12 mins later at 6:56. Anyway, see my above response. Again, I am very much involved with DL. You are the one who brought politics to this thread.

Both are distance learning courses. Well, thanks anyway for those that tried to help out.

No, I brought reality into this thread. Do you disagree that there are people in academia who woud find referring to an unkown audience as "guys" objectionable?

Re: Re: What?!? You'll ask again?

I honestly don't think so. At least not in an informal setting like degreeinfo. In a more formal setting, maybe?? Even still, I bet the number of people offended would be negligible.

Re: Re: Re: What?!? You'll ask again?

And upon what do you base this opinion? I have daily interaction with faculty members from colleges and universities, I work with this specific issue, and, based upon my experience, I think there are a large number of people who would take offense to such a statement. Perhaps you have far more experience with faculty than I do, and you can demostrate that I am not correct.

I work in academia and use the term "guys" all the time. After reading this thread, it seems that is "academic objectionable" according to some academics here. I guess we are more "friendly" in Canada or perhaps not as "academic" as we should.

Re: Re: Re: What?!? You'll ask again?

I disagree. I think that the term should NOT be objectionable. Unfortunately, many academics in the U.S. are overly "P.C." It's unfortunate, but it is true.

I can understand having a problem with this. I have a problem with it myself. But it does exist. I don't understand people insisting that it does not, or that even if it does, it is somehow wrong to make people aware of this fact.
