GW Adjuncts win union appeal

    Just an update on the discussion of GW unionization of adjuncts. Should be interesting to see what effect it has at GW and elsewhere.


    Court Upholds Decision in Favor of Adjunct Union at George Washington U.

    Afederal appeals court has upheld a January ruling by the National Labor Relations Board that George Washington University engaged in an unfair labor practice by refusing to recognize its union of part-time professors.

    In October 2004, a slim majority of adjunct professors at George Washington voted to unionize in an election certified by the National Labor Relations Board. However, the university refused to recognize the vote.
