David Boyd: ""Mr. Boyer founded Colgate University, in 1997, but had to change its name after lawyers for the real Colgate University, in New York, said it created confusion. Mr. Boyer said he took his institution’s name from the brand of toothpaste."

What the Chronicle conveniently fails to mention is that they accepted a large ad for faculty recruiting from Boyer's Colgate, without question, only the week before they ran the article "exposing" him, and using the toothpaste quote.

Google's cache of Tulane's Finance and Economics faculty page lists Mr. del Corral's "Ph.D." The live page omits the "degree" and just lists him as adjunct faculty.

His vita still plays up the "Ph.D.," and still appears on Tulane's site.

Thanks for the links. Interesting stuff.

Too bad this “Gold Standard” AACSB school emphasizing research doesn’t research their own instructors or so it appears.

Took little ole BS in Business me two minutes to find the following out.

A quick look at the Lacrosse University Web site says it all:

All programs are designed to be completed within a specific time frame. However, a student may work at his/her own pace, and may request an extension if necessary, or complete the degree requirements in a shorter period of time.

    Associate Degree Ten (10) Months
    Bachelor Degree Twelve (12) Months
    Master Degree Fourteen (14) Months
    Doctorate Fourteen (14) Months

    Accreditation Information
We are pleased to announce that Lacrosse University is a candidate for accreditation through the Association of Distance Learning Programs (ADLP). Unlike US regional accreditation (which is divided into 6 territorial regions) ADLP is an international association, providing educational quality accreditation services to private high schools, vocational schools, universities, colleges and institutes worldwide.

Wow! Up to a whole fourteen months for a doctorate!

Guess if the AACSB is the Gold Standard then the ADLP being Internation and accrediting worldwide including institutes and vocational schools must be the Platinum Standard :D

    Amazing, simply amazing!!!

    Just my opinion
