The April 29, 2002 edition of Fortune magazine has an article on John Sperling. See http://www.fortune.com/indexw.jhtml?channel=artcol.jhtml&doc_id=207304. The article primarily focuses on cat cloning, but does cover the University of Phoenix. For an earlier thread on Sperling and pet cloning, see http://www.degreeinfo.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=3833.
I like this Sperling statement: "I don't want to waste my time investing in popular things. Anyone can go and give money for kids' literacy and things like that, but how many people are going to invest in unpopular things?"
If all people want are more arrogant animals- all we need to do is clone more technology company CEOs.
I guess if I was an 81 year-old billionaire atheist, I'd invest in anti-aging research too. David L. Boyd
