Did she do anything that amount to terrorism? She staged and unlawful protest, so what! I have done that myself. Here is what I know about Rosa. She cares for her ailing elderly parents and has never asked for a dime from the government, even though she came from nothing. My opinions on Rosa are based on the fact that I have met with her and her parents. Please don't assume or attempt to assume how I come to base my opinions, got it? It's not like banks haven't done these things in the past. Rosa stood up, and she won! Good for her. Good night, that ends that. Abner
That is an awesome display of moderator behavior. You are supposed to keep all of us on track and civil - calling b4 an "asshole" does not seem to meet that objective.
There are lot of mortgages are sold to different lenders. And they modify your loans including terms and rates.
The newspaper article says the foreclosure process has been going on for two years; it doesn't say the bank foreclosed after Ms. Guidel skipped two years' worth of payments. In fact, the article says that they were at the point of eviction, evidencing that the foreclosure process has been ongoing.
mmmmmmmm......it feels so good. This false concern for someone I have never met. It keeps me warm at night. Stupid asshole. Awesome, and from a mod no less.
I guess you can interpret it that way, until you look at the general tone Kizmet's replies to b4 throughout the rest of the thread. Whatever - it is the Internet.
I'm with Ted, Kiz was clearly refering to the banker...not b4. Anyhow I used to be one of those hard core "pay your bills" and "be a grown up" back when I thought the system we had in place was worth defending but honestly I just don't know anymore. It is no more immoral or "wrong" for someone to mail their keys into the bank and tell them to stick it or to game the system than it is for a bank to accept a tax funded bailout and for big money financial types to continue giving themselves (individually) bonuses while their company sinks. I don't feel sorry for the bank, nor do I feel sorry for her. To me it's like watching a snake and a mongoose fight it out...
Well, I'll be a judgmental Maniac for a day and say that there are plenty of worse things in life than losing a house. I know this for a fact because not only have I experienced the loss of a house (my family's, not my own), I have also experienced much worse. I know that for some people there is an emotional connection to a physical structure that I just can't understand (Darn it, I was trying to NOT be compassionate. I guess Abner has me figured out.), but as a matter of practicality, if you are having trouble paying for a home for years at a time, it might be the time for you to admit to yourself that you don't have the finances to stay there. A smaller home, a half duplex, an apartment or even a trailer are all decent alternatives.
Okay - I can see where Kizmet would be directing the comments at the banker. My apologies. I would agree with MC - if making a mortgage payment continues to be a perpetual struggle, maybe it might be time to admit that home ownership is not in the cards at that time. There is nothing wrong with that. The part of the story that is irritating to anyone who is financially responsible is that Ms. Gudiel did not pay her payment for years at a time and then through a tantrum when she got called on it to the point the bank renegotiated its terms in order to get something out of this squatter. Yes, I called her a squatter - that is exactly what she is in the context of housing law.
Easy...the spectator. My point was although the outcome is almost certain the fight would be ugly at best.
Hey Travieso T, Did I tell you we adopted a female gray and white cat? She is full grown but tiny, and is about 2 years old. Great cat! How are yours doing? Do you still drink diet coke? Abner
