Because of the obvious weight difference between a whale and a human, I wouldn't call the human result an "explosion", more like an eruption.

The worst case I've seen was someone who was dead inside his apartment for about a month, in the dead of winter. The heat was set at 80 degrees, and all the windows were closed.

I was sent on a "well-being check", and my first clue that things were not well was the hundreds, if not thousands, of flies that covered every window of the apartment.

I know what you mean Bruce! When I went to a B&M college, I was in a world acclaimed Mortuary Science Program. I ended up not going into that. But it was definately eye opening.
