Merry Christmas everyone! I have a question about the Excelsior or Charter Oak State credit registry. For my undergraduate experience, I attended a number of colleges before settling down at Nyack College in New York and completing my degree there. It is a pain having to send transcripts from each of the schools that I attended if I am applying to graduate schools (DL or traditional) or second baccalaureate degree programs. Excelsior College and Charter Oak State College mentioned of a certain credit register service/bank that can consolidate all of the college work and place it on a single transcript. I believe they charge approximately $200 for this. I'm curious if anyone here as used the Excelsior or Charter Oak State credit banks? Would the graduate schools or colleges that I am applying to would view the Excelsior or Charter Oak Credit Banks as an official source to show an academic transcript, or will I have to go through the process of sending each academic transcript from each school that I attended. Please let me know if this is a suitable option or if their are any other services that does this. I'd appreciate if I can hear anyone's experiences with these services. Thanks for your help.
Hi Krazymack You have nailed the issue exactly. Although the credit bank will show all the work, any graduate program will require transcripts from all the original schools anyway. Other than providing a convenient listing of the previous work the credit bank does nothing. You could do the same by just typing out all the credits on one list. In my opinion, you would be better off to save your money!
Alternatively... You can use this credit consolidation service: www.eacadem.com They claim widspread, albeit not univerval acceptance for thier service. I just begining to test out that assertions myslelf...Anyone else with experience? --Orson
