Does anyone know if there is a link that provides the statistics for the pass rates of all the ECE exams? I know Dantes provides pass rates for dantes, clep, and ece tests but appears to show only military testees. I'm interested in looking at pass rates for all persons attempting these tests, which would include students of Excelsior and those just utilizing their tests. I'm asking because I'm interesting in taking two upper division nursing tests, Management in Nursing and Research in Nursing to finish my degree at COSC. Both have 100% pass rates on the dantes site, but only 2 and 5 people respectively took the test, so the statistics appear meaningless. I've given up looking at Excelsior's website, it's just not there that I can find. Thanks.
Surely how well you do on the sample questions would be a better indication for you than other people's pass rates?

Yes, thank you, I've looked at these before, there are only 15 and 18 questions on them, not enough to determine how I would do on a full test.
I think that's all there is, officially. (I'm sure our statisticians will tell us that some conclusions can be drawn from a sample size of 15.) For the "Research in Nursing" exam, there's a Rudman's Passbook which will have a lot more questions. My wife has found other Passbooks in this series useful; but she hasn't taken Nursing, so I can't vouch for the quality of this one. It's $29.95 at http://www.nationallearningcorporation.com, or $49.95 at http://www.barnesandnoble.com (which may be a more reliable shipper). On Excelsior's Electronic Peer Network, I found one message on the "Research in Nursing" exam: "I took the RIN on 6/8/03 and had my results by the end of July. I am excited that I passed and wish the same for you. I found that test to be the hardest test I have taken so far." Sorry not to be more helpful.
You are always helpful. I will look at the Rudman's site, didn't know they had one. I have several Rudman books for various clep tests that I bought off Ebay. Thanks.
You might also try some of the Excelsior nursing discussion groups on Yahoo groups (groups.yahoo.com). Many of the groups have sample tests/question banks in their file sections. DJ
Here is a link showing pass rates/statistics of those in the military passing CLEP, ECE, Dantes exams, etc. I think these stats give a good sample and would probably reflect the average pass rates in the civilian sector as well. http://www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_web/examinations/DSSTs-text.htm http://www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_web/examinations/ece2-text.htm http://www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_web/examinations/clepsubject-text.htm
