I don't know if this has been posted before. My apologies if it is a duplicate: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2016/05/24/kenneth-starr-reportedly-to-be-removed-as-baylor-president-amid-football-scandal/ "On Starr’s watch, the school is accused of failing to respond to rapes or sexual assaults reported by at least six women students from 2009-2016. Although the problem of sexual assault at the university goes beyond the football team, at least eight former Baylor football players have been accused of violence against women over the last eight years and Coach Art Briles and Athletic Director Ian McCaw have received increasing criticism. The regents, according to Brown, believe Starr bears more responsibility in the matter than Briles". Another one bites the dust. "In an odd bit of timing, Starr recently praised Clinton, almost, according to the New York Times, “seeming to absolve” the former president and calling him “the most gifted politician of the baby boomer generation.” Strange. One of the Koch brothers praises Bill Clinton, and now this guy?
It hasn't been posted before because it's not white frat boys doing the (alleged) raping. It's FOOTBALL...
Like the military, shit flows uphill at universities. The President of Penn State likely had no idea about Jerry Sandusky's extracurricular activities, but he had to go down along with the real perpetrators (Sandusky & Joe Paterno).
Ah! ok? It's rape. It just happens to revolve around FOOTBALL! Maybe I am exhausted from doing some major repairs/construction to my house, but I find your statements to be baffling sometimes. Not only that, what difference does the race of the perps make? Ay dios mio.
So we shouldn't investigate rape? What if that was one of your daughters? You have just determined it is false? Based on your opinion? It's false almost every time? Come one now?
It's the price you pay for trying to get a better Football program. As a friend of mine stated "the better the football program the less chance I’d send my daughter there”.
That's disgusting! I mean, I realize people really love their football teams, but come on! These guys don't walk on water. They are not coming up with a cure for cancer, for example. It's just a game. I don't mean this a crit·i·cism towards football fans. In the end, these guys are just criminals who happen to play football. That's how I see it.
In Texas, football is a religion. This is all disgusting, yes, but when something becomes an obsession this is the kind of thing that can happen. Football coaches today have to understand that the world is different. Turning a blind eye and saying "Look, I coach football, anything else happening is outside my care zone" doesn't work in today's climate and you WILL go down just as a result of indifference alone if it all hits the fan.
