    Re: DTS

As we say in Minnesota, "You betcha!"

When I both entered the school in 1996 and graduated with a Th.M. in 2000, I signed a statement saying I agreed with the following doctrinal tenets:

    -the Trinity,
-the full deity and humanity of Christ,
-the spiritual lostness of the human race,
-the substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection of Christ,
-salvation by faith alone in Christ alone,
-the physical return of Christ, and
-the authority and inerrancy of Scripture.

I don't know precisely when the change was instituted, but I know with certainty that any catalog from 1996 to the present will confirm what I've said.

We need to get you a newer catalog, Bill! :)

That is very good to hear Ed. Thanks for the correction. I was hoping at one time to go to DTS but just could not swing quitting work and moving. Fortunately Western is only 45 miles from me so I could make the triangle work-seminary-home for four years.

Minnesota, eh? I used to go there in the summer as a kid and fish 5 miles North of Milac Lake (spelling?) in Aitkin County. Ah, those were the days: Northern Pike and a blond sweetheart to greet me every summer. One time I about refused to come home. I was going to stay and pull feathers out of boiled turkeys for a living. Man, who says there's no divine providence!

Nice to hear from you, Ed.

When I attended Western's branch campus in California I was very pleased with the theological amalgamation which we enjoyed there. In my first Systematic Theology class we had Pentecostals, Baptists, and a few Catholics. It made class discussion very interesting - in fact our professor was so thorough in presenting divergent opinion that it usually made me wonder how anyone can fully apprehend a particular theology in the first place.

That is why I am happy to call myself a neo-conservative bapticostal. :D

    Kindly,
    Steven King
Who has decided to return to seminary, most likely Liberty's distance education program.

    Steven

Congratulations on your syncretistic theology and your decision to return to seminary studies. Theology is like Colonel Sanders..eat the meat, toss the bones.
