This week's Chronicle of Higher Education (March 1) reports that 21 people have been arrested for making and selling fake diplomas, from offices inside the national Ministry of Education in Kenya. "Some of those arrested were top ministry offials, police officials said." "The forgery operation was carried out on a floor below the office of the education minister (who) declined to comment." The scheme had been going for at least six years, and they "had made a substantial amount of money..."
What is most surprising, John, is that these educators were not advertising in USA Today, right beside other $99 BA degrees.
