I have read this forum for a few days and I am amazed with information and support that you all offer. Maybe, somebody could help me with my problem or link some old treads about similar topic. I moved to America (NYS) a year ago and try to figure out my future profession here. I did the evaluation through WES and my degree is equivalent to american Bachelor in Business Administration and has 182 credits. My final goal is a CPA exam. I have enough credits to sit for an exam, but do not have accounting credits that are required. About that there are two things to ask: 1. Which school (or any other way) do you recommend for completing accounting credits? 2. Does anyone know about DL CPA preparation course that could recommend? In further I would like to pursue MBA or MS in accounting, here in The USA. Any advice about cheap school with good program to consider? Or combination MBA and CPA? Thank you in advance, any info will be great help for me.
If you already have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, you can earn an accounting certificate or go on to earn a master's degree in accounting. LSU has a certificate in accounting available via distance study... LSU Independent and Distance Learning UC Berkeley also has a certification program: Certificate Program in Accounting
Check to make sure that your state does not limit the number of "corrospondance" credits before you make your decision also, LSU credits appear this way on their transcrips. However, their classes are well-designed from what I have seen and they are likely to be the most reasonably-priced option that you'll find. Also on your test prep question, I used Yaeger and Gleim and they worked well for me, but many choose Becker. You will have to check out the products to see which will work best for your learning style. Good luck!
