That's a good point. I guess it depends on how much programming background a person already has. I felt that that were very few holes in my preparation for grad school. That may not be the case for someone who isn't a working programmer already.

I perceive that the academics at Troy are stronger. However, neither program is a true CS degree. Troy offers a true CS degree, but I don't believe it is offered online (yet.)

The CS degree is also offered via their independent distance education (IDE) mode of delivery which doesn't require attending an associated college.

I believe that in an age of globalization having a exposure to foreign languages and cultures will be more and more important to software engineers. Half of my department is from a foreign country (Russia, India or Brazil.) To support this, I understand that ABET is considering making a masters degree the first professional degree for engineers (instead of the bachelors) so that the undergrad degree has more time to educate in other business important areas aside from technology.

That is interesting about troy. Everyone I have talked to talks about how easy troy is. Everyone I have talked to talks about how hard baker is. However, easy vs hard doesn't mean you are getting a good education.

I would also like to add about troy, since I have dealt with both schools, the faculty at troy seems to bend over backwards to assist you. Where as baker seems a little more businessy.

What about Carnegie Mellon? Dont they have a bachelors of Computer science that can be completed fully online?

Does that rank the highest on the list?
