Well looks like I will won’t be able to finish up with Clovis in the fall like I planned. The credits I transferred in and was told would apply to certain classes will not. What sucks is they told me I was fine and their would be no problems. My advisor even reviewed all of my classes. Also they told me they would take clep English Comp and AIL Clep, my advisior called me today and said they no longer take those. While I was on the phone with them I asked about DSST exams, he told me they did not take those but they administor the exam.....wtf? I went from being able to finish in the fall to 3 more semesters with them. I am sitting on a lot of credit I can use other places, I will still take some classes in the fall but I am planning on looking into other options now.
25 years from now you will have 480 credits but still no degree. The Big Three were made for people like you. Just remember the potential major changes in TESCs near future.
I was looking at EC, their Lib Arts AS looks good. I even called and talked to them about it. Anyone know if they take Analyzing and interpreting Lit Clep?
ECs Lib Arts degrees are great. However EC won't take CLEP Engish Comp but my guess is that they will take the Analzing Lit CLEP (possibly as an elective).
Yes. I completed my A.S. in Liberal Studies last year through Excelsior and they accepted this exam. I believe it counted as an elective, as I already had met the humanities requirement.
That's ok, I'm gonna do like so many others here have done and use EC. I passed my clep today btw with a 64....wohooo
I'm in the same predicament, only it's because it I attempted too many credits that didn't apply towards my Associate degree at the community college I've been attending. Guess this saved me some added frustration w/Clovis - maybe they would have ended up not accepting as many credits as I thought would have applied towards the degree. For all who are using Federal Financial Aid: the key word here is attempted credits. That means incompletes, withdrawals beyond the drop deadlines, F's: all of these are counted as part of credits attempted. The limit is 150 percent of the degree program. Mine was nearly 200 percent! Nice college, huh? Now that I almost don't even have enough credits left for a bachelor's, I find out - and it took them TWO semesters of screwed up financial aid (I was supposed to attend, everything is fine... now it isn't..no one really knows what is going on.. that sort of thing..) to let me know. The reality is, I don't actually blame them. I knew I had to stay on top of them for everything, but my own poor health, severe financial problems, family problems - in other words, life - got in the way. Maniac Craniac said: That's me!! How'd you guess?? I'm also considering the big three, but also National University and WGU. I like the latter two, but am waiting to hear from them about the approximate amt of transferable credits I have, and if I can get the application fee waived. I seriously cannot afford even one $75 fee right now. Congrads on passing the Clep, b4cz28 - which test was it?
It was the AIL. I feel you on the 75$. I have $300 and I am not sure what to do with it. Should I do the credit bank at EC. Use it for Straighterline classess or just save up for the enrollment fee at EC.....so lost.
Definitely, a Charter Oak candidate. Seriously, give them a second look. My BS from Charter Oak State really opened doors for me. What I liked the best, was how clear they were on my transfer credits and the courses /CLEP I would need to complete. I had to submit transcripts from eight separate schools and a series of Navy Technical Schools (pre-Smart Transcript). They accepted everything but a few math courses.
