I got some more information on Straighterline.com

You can pay $99 per month and complete the course in one month. To do that, you have to pay and then cancel on the same day. So, if I want to finish College Algebra in one month, I have to pay and cancel on the same day. That will buy me one month of time to complete the course. If I do not complete the course in one month, I lose all of my work and have to start over.

College Algebra requires 5 non-proctored, online tests. They are not timed and you can only take each test once. Fort Hays charges an extra $30 as an application fee.

So, that's $129 for the whole deal? That's not bad!!!

I agree, but you are under the gun according to Sowak - must get done in a month.

If Sowak can get the program done in a month, go for it...but with a math course, that might be tough IMHO.

I am already strong in the subject. I would CLEP, but my brick and mortar school will not accept CLEP in math. The grade is based on 5 online tests. No time limit on the tests and no proctor. One attempt per test. It is doable. I may not get to watch much football for a few weeks, but it is doable, for sure.

Doesn't look like a 1 month time-frame; only if you want to pay $99, THEN you need to do it in 1 month... if you want to take 2 or 3 months, it's still a bargain and much more do-able...

Price also includes 10 1-1 instructional support sessions.

I'll be enrolling in this next spring as I still college algebra for my degree :) and I'd rather spend $198 or even $297 and still be ahead!

Sowak is looking for the best deal - and for the best deal he has to complete the Staighterline course in a month. If he has to enroll for 2 months then Clovis is the best deal.

Both Clovis and Straigherline are great deals - but Sowak is looking to spend the least amount of money.

Shawn is exactly correct. If my school will accept the credits, I am going with the one month plan for $129. If necessary, I will go with Clovis for $172.
