Hiring committes normally do research about the school you attended prior offering an appointment. In the case of TUI, a graduate can always say that TUI is a branch of TU. When hiring committes do research about it, they will find a lot of good things about TU and therefore they wouldn't hesitate about TUI. In the case of NCU, their website clearly states that they are an online school with no connection to any other school. Although some of their staff might have full time jobs at other reputable Universities, the hiring committe would know right away that the school in question is not as credible as other more established schools.

However, this is not just a problem with NCU, the same would happen if someone shows up with a PhD from an obscure country from a place no one knows. The school might be legit but their lack of recognition would make them hard to sell.

In few words, I would think that schools like NCU are perfect for community college faculty looking for a salary increase or working professionals looking to better themselves. But I would still think that it is not a good option for full time University faculty prospects.

Unlikely to happen, TU and TUI isn't a partnership. TU purchased what became TUI so there was never any competitive issues....
