Very interesting...judging by his gown, I suspect that the President accepted an honorary doctorate (unless he's been studying by D/L these last four years ) He won't have any critics at his next speech. There is no free speech at the Naval Academy.
The tide is going to turn on the Republican party and Bush43, et al. It's difficult for despotism to go unnoticed for too awfully long. You watch. Ha! Good one. Hey... what ever happened to that soldier who had the temerity (at a reporter's urging, it was alleged at the time) to stand-up at that Rumsfeld speech in Iraq and complain about the lack of armor, etc., a few months ago? I always figured he'd just get disappeared or something. We know what the administration's and the Pentagon's response was; but what did they do to the soldier who humiliated Rumsfeld. He's gotta' be manning a radio tower in Antarctica, right?
He he he! Maybe he got an honorary doctorate in Ebonics, he used the word "Hater" the other day in relation to a very serious subject. I laughed so hard I accidently spit out some coffee. Have a good weekend! Abner
Re: Good point! Excellent! Yes... exactly. If we can keep it. And, mark my words, as long as we keep electing the kind of far-Right, merciless, bible-thumping, theocratic Republicans that now occupy the White House and most of the House and Senate -- Republicans that I believe even Ronald Reagan, were he alive and thinking straight today, would not recognize as "Republicans" -- we will most definitely not be able to keep it... ...as ancient Greek philosophers predicted for any democracy, given enough time.
Re: Re: He he he! I believe he was referring to a foreign dictator. Hater may appear in the dictionary, but is not usually used in formal discussion. This is a commom Rapper term. I guess the Prez might start using the term "Player haters" next! take care Ian, Abner
