As I posted earlier I am in the process of dropping my D-Tech program at Durban. I attempted to remove the statistician, however, she kind of hung on (and I got billed for it!). It became rapidly apparent the relationship between her and my supervisor was such that I could not avoid her input. So I am on the hunt for a new program. I was initially looking for a PhD or a DBA but I have decided my goals make the DBA more practical. I am going to share some of what I have found on this board so others may benefit/ I started with Athabasca. This link is concerning the Aston Business School. Aston is in Birmingham, the UK and is a rising school academically. They are AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accredited. The accreditations amke them a very good program for someone wanting to make an effort to get into academia. They offer both a DBA and a PhD. The DBA can be done via distance learning (they have some current US students) but is very expensive ($40k to $50K. They are a Stafford approved school so one could use a Stafford loan to pay for it (www.iefc.com). The require a visit for the comps and to defend your thesis. The POC is Andrea McCann at: a.i.mccann@ aston.ac.uk The PhD is cheaper (roughly $7500 per annum) but requires a lot of time on campus in the UK about 30 WORKING days the first year. The required course can be done via distance learning. The POC is Edna Bland: e.r.bland@ aston.ac.uk
