Does anyone have personal experience with Aspen U (the real one, accredited by DETC)? If so, what sort of work is required, how much, how hard, etc. What was your experience with their faculty/graders and administration? How are the courses set up?

Aspen will let you preview their coursework without signing up for a class. Just call and ask.

I have taken two courses at Aspen University towards their project management certificate. The coursework is challenging though not insurmountable if you are willing to do the readings and assignments.

Are you looking at a degree or certificate? There are no exams for the certificate courses, the graduate degrees require, in most cases, a final comprehensive exam. I am not certain about the examination procedures for the undergraduate degree completion offering.

From what I have seen of Aspen, the quality of work is quite similar to what one would experience at a regionally accredited school (and, I suspect, they will ultimately become RA).

    Re: Re: Aspen U

Compared to American Intercontinental or Phoenix? Maybe.

Compared to a traditional RA? Not even close.

There are some undergraduate courses I could finish in a two or three days if I tried hard enough (and with no proctored exams, this is completely possible).

Why do you think they will ultimately be RA? Folks there told me that was not in the cards for them.

I have an MBA from Aspen, and am currently working on a Master of Science with them.

I find them to be a good, reasonable option. The courses are well thought out, and generally will facilitate your ability to learn the material. I find that in most courses, the texts they choose are very good, and offer additional on-line resources. A couple of the courses and texts are on the bad side, but this is the exception for sure, not the rule.

There are people on the other end of e-mail and the phone, and they generally are helpful.

If an NA degree works for you, like it did and does for me, I think Apsen is fine.

I've completed by MBA from Aspen and have nothing but positive comments for them. Supportive staff and really good teachers... But like all other DL schools, there is none to push you but you alone. Do keep that in mind before enrolling.
