 Old news You can make this stuff up: Arizona Sheriff Uses A Tank And Steven Seagal To Arrest Cockfighting Suspect : The Two-Way : NPR "Arpaio, reports Phoenix news station KPHO, used armored vehicles and a "tank" to execute a search warrant against Jesus Llovera, who was suspected of running a cockfighting ring." "When the tank came in and pushed the wall over and you see what's in there, and all it is, is a bunch of chickens," Ross told KPHO. I would say the use of the tank was a bit of overkill.
The tank would be overkill, normally. But the sheriff's office was running at a significant disadvantage due to having Steven Seagal working with them. So I'd say it balanced out. Now, had they brought Chuck Norris (even with no tank), Joe Arpaio would probably be on trial at the Hague.
Fortunately, this article is from 2011 and Joe Arpaio has since been ousted from the position of public trust for which he was clearly unsuited.
He had a very long time to leave quite the trail of destruction. We can only imagine what he might have done during his first career, as a federal agent, that simply escaped the public eye. Very dangerous man. At least he no longer has any authority to abuse.
Indeed he did. His total time in public and military service spans 62 years, 1954-2016. Obama's courts had him charged. Trump's courts will try him. I note Arpaio endorsed Mr. Trump long before his (Trump's) candidacy appeared at all likely ... And as of 2 days ago, it seems Arpaio is totally unrepentant. A quote: “I know my people did nothing wrong. I did not, I’m more popular than ever.” https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/23/us/joe-arpaio-arizona.html The whole disturbing story is here, on Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Arpaio It's as ugly as it gets. Q - Hey Sheriff Joe! Now that you're pardoned, what's the first thing you're going to do? A - I'm going to give an interview to a Holocaust denial publication! https://www.mediamatters.org/blog/2017/09/19/after-trump-pardon-joe-arpaio-gives-interview-publication-denies-holocaust/217971?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark
I hope The Asylum gets inspired and makes the film Tanks vs Chickens. If we're very lucky, it will launch a whole new series, followed up by Tank-sized Chickens vs Chicken-sized Tanks and Tanknado vs Chicknami. Then again, I can only imagine what I would do with a tank if I was given the authority to command one. I'd never have to sit in traffic again :fing02:
