I have been following this board for quite some time and have recently decided to become a member. I found a list that may be of interest to anyone considering attending a DETC accredited school. It shows a partial listing of colleges and universities that accepts DETC credits. http://www.colsouth.edu/accred_list.html.

The list is interesting but proceed with caution. The list does not mention the conditions under which credits will be accepted, nor how many. If one wants to transfer to another school eventually, ALWAYS ask that school before enrolling in the first school.

For example Florida International University is listed, but their website specifically calls for credits for transfer students to be from regionally accredited schools: http://www.fiu.edu/%7Eadmiss/transfers.html .

Also FIU does not normally accept DETC degrees for admission to graduate school: http://www.fiu.edu/%7Eadmiss/graduate.html

It might be that some academic departments at FIU will accept some credits under appeal or through provisional enrollment, but I don't think that justifies the blanket statement made about the university.

Since you're from Florida, you might be interested in my poll of Florida Colleges and Universities that accept DETC degrees for graduate admissions:
