Well, Jack and Gus can't both be right. :)

Gus posted a long message defending what Jack calls the "exceptions". Gus tells me, "You must be new at this." I am relatively new (our respective registration dates and numbers of posts speak for themselves). But I have been observing some very old hands, and Jack's statement above confirms that there are many models for the behaviour I'm advocating. If I were to pick John Bear as a model for posting style, would anyone object?

If you think degreeinfo has extreme problems, you obviously haven't spent a great deal of time in online discussion groups. If you really want to see a disfunctional distance learning discussion group, check out alt.education.distance, where it seems that for the past month or more, nearly every thread has some sort of attack against Rich Douglas. (And yet Rich chooses to quit poting here...hmm....)

I don't think Rich is posting anywhere.
