I haven't seen the game, just the headline . . . it seems that the US beat France in a close contest . . . something about a hand-ball non-call. Anyway, I'll watch it later tonight. Congratulations to the women's team!
I won't spoil it, but I did see the last quarter of the match and it was reasonably exciting. Next up, England.
The first semi-final is USA v. England on Tuesday. The Lionesses are surprising people with their strong play. They are a deep team, especially at attack and so you might see some subs early if the starters can't score early against the US.
Not that anyone ever bets on sporting events . . . World Cup Finals . . . USA v. Netherlands Sunday 11am https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/world-cup/news/womens-world-cup-odds-predictions-2019-betting-lines-best-expert-picks-for-usa-vs-netherlands/
I just realized that I hadn't posted anything about the Finals. I thought it would be closer. 2-1 was my prediction. I thought the Netherlands looked defeated after the second goal. I was worried there might be a bad foul. In the end it was fun but the US showed themselves to be on another level than the other teams. The next team will be different. No Alex Morgan, no Carly Lloyd. No Megan Rapinoe. The high school/college season starts in a few weeks. In some ways that's more fun.
a tiny bit off-topic . . . . . will Carli Lloyd play in the NFL? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/uswnt-legend-carli-lloyd-seriously-considering-pursuing-an-nfl-career-as-a-kicker-eyeing-the-2020-season/
