"If everyone in the world had the same BMI as you, it would add 7,352,387 tonnes to the total weight of the world's population"

    :lmao:

    Of muscle, of course!

That's a pretty interesting calculator. My BMI is better than 76% of males in the US, which I thought was good until I saw my BMI on a global scale. It's better than only 40% of people worldwide. Americans obviously don't have very good BMI indexes.

At first I missed changing it to pounds vs kilos and it came out like I was the fattest man on earth!

    Randall,
I did the same thing! Must be our NCU doctorates...we learned we must take the extra step to finally get it right (but we had enough common sense to realize we could not possibly be the fattest people on earth!)

I punched in the numbers for a starving African refugee who is near death from not eating and was then given favorable BMI results. :eek13:

I'm surprised that there are five countries in the world with a larger fat index than the USA. I understand the southern states in the USA are the worst area.

Mine is 27. I have been calculating my BMI since I was 13 years old in an effort to increase it year over year. My goal in high school was to get to 28 but I never did. I'd like to be at 29 and 7% bodyfat some day.
BMI is not a valid way to measure someone's fitness or obesity level. Its just a measure of mass. That mass could be fat or muscle. Without BMI plus bodyfat percentage, its sort of meaningless.

My scale only goes up to 300 and I couldn't get a good reading by using two (one for each foot). Had to get talking scales 'cause I couldn't read the dials.

Just found out that I am over weight, even though I avoid sweet stuff only drinking 1 to 2 gallons of water per day. My current BMI is 26, I have been to the gym almost every single day. However, I avoid cardio; especially running due to flat feet. No wonder, I cannot see my six-pack abs.
