Thanks more good insights. I am exploring options for a company (not "school") that does online training.

    There isn't much to say.

    1. Clayton College of Natural Health was a questionable unaccredited school that operated in Alabama from about 1980 to 2010.

    2. Around 2008, CCNH received "certification" (not just "membership") from USDLA for its distance learning programs. Possibly CCNH had a good system for delivering DL coursework, even if the material that was delivered was of questionable value.

    3. Nonetheless, this move undermined the credibility of USDLA to some, including members of degreeinfo.

    4. Since CCNH is now defunct, the issue is moot. However, the certification of CCNH may have permanently diminished the credibility of USDLA's certification program. There seems to be little interest in USDLA certification at present, though perhaps that would have been the case with or without CCNH.

    5. On the other hand, the CCNH situation doesn't really affect the credibility of USDLA membership, because USLDA has never claimed that membership was restricted to accredited schools. On the contrary, USDLA clearly sees DL at companies, non-profits, govt agencies, etc. as part of its scope. Such organizations do not have conventional accreditation, and are not even eligible for accreditation. USDLA opens the door to such unaccredited organizations; however, this may provide an opening for questionable unaccredited schools as well.
