West Coast Bible College and Seminary - - Names Change, Etc.

Mosaic Christian College, formerly known as West Coast Bible College and Seminary and located in Dallas, is accredited by ASIC. While still operating under the West Coast name, the institution previously applied for accreditation with the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) but was not approved. They have since submitted an application for accreditation with the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).

"BIG NEWS from Mosaic Christian College! As of May 8, 2025, MCC has officially applied for accreditation with TRACS (Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools)! This is a major step forward in our mission to create disciples of Christ—without creating disciples of debt."

 

I'm curious if people think we can still call it "accreditation" when it's ASIC. I understand they play a bigger role overseas but in the US, having that status does not confer any degree-recognition powers. Hopefully they can get TRACS, although I'm curious what DEAC had to say. I seem to remember someone noting a long time ago (maybe it was just personal knowledge) that the most common reason for failure to secure DEAC accreditation is inability to meet the financial requirements, not operational or academic concerns.

 

West Coast applied with DEAC, but withdrew their application. They choose not to proceed with them.
