I came across this and it is hilarious.

The web site is very unprofessionally done and the reassurance less than assuring. Then you go to the list of member schools and it doesn't get any better. I do wonder in cases like this what the thoughts are by those schools obtaining this accreditation (ignorance or hoping to mislead customers by appearing to add credibility) or the people obtaining degrees and claiming "accredited" degrees by "non governmental agencies".

What is wrong with a school simply saying it is unaccredited but ensures its standards are equivalent by doing the following (such as faculty with accredited degrees, so many hours of instruction, textual material and so on). I imagine most of the schools on the list couldn't claim that but this just seems a little problematic for a school let alone an allegedly faith based school.

The FAQ page is pure gold. I was going to copy and paste a few but it got to the point I would be pasting most of the page.

Diploma mills claiming accreditation from fake (or real-but-not-accrediting) agencies is age-old. More rare are accreditation mills. We've only seen a few of those. And now another.

I am not sure who “he” is. I tried searching for info about the person listed as the head of the organization and came up empty.

Sorry, it's an old guy joke. The image is "Joe Isuzu", there were a series of ads for Isuzu vehicles in the US in the '80s where he would make outrageous claims about their vehicles and on the screen it would say things like that (or "Not really", etc.).

I removed the link to eschew supporting the website's priority on Google.

NAAPTI is a digital business, at least needs to invest a good amount of money into IT and its website.

Who is that other guy who would lie, look shady, and then say, "Yah, that's the ticket".

There's a certain group of people for whom titles matter more than substance, since students are unlikely to look up the accreditor themselves (for proof see the majority of the general public who don't understand RA vs NA or who is accrediting the school they want to attend.)

David Leisure. Also found in the sitcom "Empty Nest," and one of the two Hare Krishnas in "Airplane."

I didn’t recognize the picture though I am an “advanced” Isuzu enthusiast (I built and still own, because no one else will buy it, a custom Isuzu Amigo) so I am familiar with the idea of Joe Isuzu from the “community.” I just took it as an opportunity to play on the words and point out something I meant to write in my first post. Dr. William Drumheller, the org president, doesn’t have much of an internet presence. I was attempting to find his credentials.

    633 Heartwood Road
Grimesland, North Carolina 27837 is listed as the address for NAAPTI and Ecclesia Bible Institute on Google, not to be mistaken for Ecclesia College in Springdale AR which is ABHE accredited.

The NC Ecclesia has a website found by looking for Ekklesia Bible Institute Faith Center dot net. I don't know why it's spelled differently. You'll recognize you're in the right place by the near identical web design.

William Martin Drumheller is registered to vote at that address.

Back at the college, a Jasper W. Hemphill Jr, PhD is listed as the founder. A more detailed bio of him on is here: https://www.aaets.org/international-speakers-and-trainers-bureau#/action/Listing/value/13242/cid/1642/id/4401/Rev-Dr-Jasper-W-Hemphill-Jr

No indication where his credentials came from. Ekklesia/Ecclesia has tax exempt status and randomly filed a Form 990 in 2018 but no other year. It is virtually empty except including a $25,000 contribution. It's missing even required information like their Board: https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/detailsPage?ein=562148579&name=Ekklesia Bible Institute Faith Center&city=Morganton&state=NC&countryAbbr=US&dba=&type=CHARITIES, EPOSTCARD, COPYOFRETURNS&orgTags=CHARITIES&orgTags=EPOSTCARD&orgTags=COPYOFRETURNS

Edit: There is also a church at 633 Heartwood called "Ecclesia Christian Assembly", c/o William Drumheller. https://www.hipaaspace.com/ein/ein_verification/273768915

I assume that is related. Churches don't have to file with the IRS so there is no Form 990 filing under that Assembly EIN.

This is about a fake accrediting agency, not a diploma mill claiming to be accredited by a fake accreditor.

I love it - $150 to become an "Associate Member" or $250 to be a full member. Paypal link too.

I'm unsure why you're making that "correction." I made that distinction in my post: "More rare are accreditation mills. We've only seen a few of those. And now another."
