    Hi all,
    My question is this:
I'm currently enrolled in the UWA K-12 School Counseling program and I am interested in both K-12 and college counseling. Being that this program is for the K-12 portion, what will I need to do to get to the college level counseling? How about becoming an LPC?
I have already received a Masters in Educational Technology, so this is yet another masters and I don't want to spend even more $$$$ or time unless I do this right.
Any positive help will be wonderful and thank you!
    Lisa

    Lisa,

As you know, states have varying requirements for counseling in secondary and post-secondary education. Check with your state educational credentialing agency for guidance. For example, in California UCLA Extension offers a seven-course, online college counselor certificate program (e.g., Post-Masters). Courses include: The College Admissions Process and Practicum in College Counseling (that requires a 65-hour practicum), Counseling the College-Bound Student, The College Admissions Process, Financial Aid Fundamentals, Testing/Career Assessment, Using the Internet for College/Career Counseling, and Special Issues in College Counseling. An additional course is offered called Educational Consulting: Foundations of a Practice. This class instructs on how to develop an independent college counseling practice. The cost of the program is $3,835, not including books and miscellaneous fees. Moreover, your particular state may offer reciprocity for this certificate. https://www.uclaextension.edu/r/ProgramDetails.aspx?reg=CF348
