This U o P thing and K-W, Rebecca did you accept the challange from the earlier posting on this thread, and deliver the portfolio evidence to John Bear? as follows:

QUOTE FROM JOHN's Posting:....Rebecca: "Trust me, when my husband got done detailing page after page of "employer facilitated training" that was mostly bogus, UoP bent over and gave him the credit (at a cost). That bogus info wiped out about 30 credits."

John: This is mind-boggling. You state that your husband fabricated a lengthy resume, and the University of Phoenix gave him 30 semester units for his fake claims, without checking them.

No, actually, I don't trust you, Rebecca. But my mind, often boggled, is open. So let's take it one step further, Rebecca. Send me proof. I have kept people's confidences, absolutely, for 30 years in this field. I will keep yours and your husband's. If what you say is really true, I will report it here, and in my books, and apologize profusely for not trusting you. If you'd rather not entrust the information to me, I can suggest one or more disinterested 3rd parties with credential evaluation services, or you could find one of your own. I'll gladly pay all costs of making copies and of postage. Contact me privately for discussion of logistics.

I would lso be interested, because if this is the case as you have stated, maybe we should go back to U o P and challenge their Accreditation, if this makes you feel any better for them not accepting you?

IIRC, in another thread at that same time, I made the statement that the K-W assessment of life experience was bogus and misleading at best. I believe she responded there and here at about the same time. I responded to her in the other thread pointing out that since K-W didn't publish their graduation requirements, any credits for work experience was irrelevant especially considering that apparently any K-W degree can be had for 5 to 7 classes by about anyone. As far as I know Rebecca disappeared from this forum at that point. Her claim of gross academic dishonesty on the part of UoP was apparently nothing more than either a complete fabrication or just another example of how degree mill apologists twist the facts past the point of truthfullness.

In my mind, this story supports the value of accreditation. K-W is unaccredited and when they play games with work experience that in my mind makes them vulnerable to legal prosecution for fraud, it is no big deal and doesn't seem to raise any real surprise. Yet if an accredited institution like UoP did something sloppy like not validating 30 credits of claimed work experience then everyone gets excited and it could cause UoP very significant problems.

Thanks Bill. This is now a dead thread for me.
