Hello everyone, I have a phone interview in a few days with UOP and im very nervous about it. I was hoping to get some pointers from those who have had one recently, could you let me know what sort of questions they ask and how long it takes.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the feeling that I was being interviewed by a recent college grad much like those you meet at Enterprise Rent-a-car. Do not worry. You're in command. Be confident. Besides, they are not going to pay you a whole lot for your amazing gifts and talents. Use them to get your foot in the door and then move on to a better paying school.

Be sure you can answer questions about where you work and what you do. That seems obvious, but I know of a small business merger and acquisitions guy who hard time getting the interviewer to understand that taking a commission on the sale of the business or an equity position in the new firm wasn't really functioning as an hourly consultant. He wasn't an employee and he wasn't a consultant; that must be a check box. He was a great find to teach strategy / finance courses, I thought...

Also, act experienced but trainable. UOP has it's own instructional system that has been refined and it really works well, especially when new instructors give the system a chance to work.

Do a search, this has been covered several times in this forum. There is a lot of great information to help you.

Thank you so much all of you, I feel more confident about things from your encouraging words. My interview is next week and I feel I am qualified for it and based on my resume and online interview, since I was asked to go further to this point I figure they think the same. I am just going to be myself and do my best, and hope for the best...

Hey everyone, so I had my phone interview and I think it went well. The person that I spoke to seemed interested and said they will get back to me in a few days. I am just wondering now what is the next step of the process for those that have been through the Phoenix interview process. After the phone part, is is straight onto training or what? Thanks for any info.

If you are going to training, you will need to do all of your pre-hire paper work ASAP, like instantaneously. Seriously, they gave me five days (including a weekend) to get them my transcripts, fill out a W-2, have my Drivers' License, SS card and Passport notarized etc. If you don't have signed, sealed copies of your transcripts on hand, it would be good to gather the info and/or talk to your undergrad and grad institutions and have the "express" transcript form ready to give to your institutions. This may require overnight mail, FedEx or other quick response.

If you don't meet your deadline, you will have to wait for the next training session, but it does not kill your chances - or so I've been told.

    Good luck.

Thanks mba for the info. You mentioned that they ask for your information straight away, but I thought from the original email that your ss card and all that was requested after successfully completing the training. I just ordered a new ss card since mine was messed up after a swim, so I'm wondering if I would need that before training or after.

I'm sure that they required documentation before the training. Some employers accept a passport in lieu of the SS card but I'm not sure about UoPx.
