Way to go! You are an inspiration, Unixman! Looks as though you will be finished your degree by the end of September.

I have knocked out 29 credits the hard way in the past 12 months so I will be taking a short break to regroup both my mind and my bank account.

Great job!! You are an inspiration to me, as I am a few credits behind you and I am taking the same degree program from TESC.

I'm taking the Business & Society exam in a few weeks and then the Business Policy test a couple of weeks after that.

You really helped me with the Algebra and Trig exam, and for that I will be eternally in your debt.

Any chance you can share your study notes for either Business & Society or Business Policy (only if it is convenient for you).

Thanks again and good luck with the last 3 credits.

I may be following you to Ellis (NYIT) for my MBA, haven't decided yet but I am seriously considering it.

Well, gang, I just got back from taking my final-final exam - the TECEP Business Policy exam.

I won't know if I passed it for another 3-4 weeks or so, but I feel pretty good about it. Assuming I passed it, then I will be getting my BS in Business this December from TESC. :)

As a capstone exam, it really isn't like most other standardized exams, where you memorize everything, and then sit for the exam. The essays really require that you put the theories to work.

    Things to definitely know:

    • Pluralism, pluralistic society, what it means, etc.
    • Foreign Corrupt Practices Act - know how this works
    • Basics of managing issues and crises
    • Basics of the stakeholder management model
    • Basics of corporate governance

In short, make sure you can pass the practice exam, and follow the weighted outline when studying the recommended textbook.

    Cheers, and good luck!

    Unixman,

The exam you were referring to was the Business in Society exam, not Business Policy right?
Just a bit confused as per your last post where you said you just got back from your final final exam Business Policy. I'm guessing this was just a typo, but want to make sure.

Whoops - yes, it was a typo. My last exam was Business in Society (ethics).

    Cheers.

    help with tecep

I took the Business in Society TECEP and failed the first go round. Since I have one more time and have already bought the Carroll book, I thought I'd ask for help in studying up for the test the second time. I found that most of the info I studied wasn't on the test.

I was wondering if anyone good give me a good review of what is on the test. I would sincerly appreciate it and return the favor however I could.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Well, it's official (sort of). My "Odd"yssey is over.

I just checked my online transcript at TESC and see that they just posted my Business in Society grade - another 3 credits to the pot. And that pot, my friends, is now officially full!

I made the deadline for graduation by just a few days, so this December, I will be receiving a hard-fought degree from TESC.

I'd like to thank all the little people, my parents, Quincy Jones, and Martin Scorcese.

So now, I'm off to network and find my next big gig. I will visit from time to time, and of course, as soon as I start my MBA courses, I'll be posting updates here as well.

Chris - that exam is not an easy one to study for and pass. I honestly don't know if I could have taken it had it not been for my real world business background. All I can say is study the book some more and give it a go. Clearly, you now have a feel for the types of questions they ask on the exam, that should help you focus your study efforts. You may find it easier to just take the course ... no harm in that.

    Cheers, and good luck!

Based solely on the thread start date and the posting announcing completion of the degree it looks to be almost 3 years of calendar time. The actual time (effort) though is probably much less than the calendar time. You can follow the entire journey by clicking on the link in unixman's signature.
