Congrats on victory! The grade situation is interesting, but glad everything worked out for you in the end!

Out of curiosity, did they make you align to the new template that came out last month? I was about to send my Chapters 1-4 for review but have had to re-align with the new template (which had significant changes). Not to mention that my dissertation looks like a worthless hot steaming pile that absolutely nobody will ever care to read and now I don't even want to bother submitting it, but that's beside the point.

I used the same template I started using in 736 in the Summer of 2023. They made substantial changes to the template prior to me starting with the template in use in the Summer of 2023. I did not know they changed it again, less than a year later.

At least for quan, significant portions of Chapters 3 and 4 (especially Chapter 4) got moved into Chapter 5. Definitely encourage you to download the new template off the Doctoral Research site and compare those chapters in particular.

I reached out to my chair yesterday. His reply was, "When you have a chance, migrate your content to the new one. " So, thanks for the heads up.

No problem at all. I groaned a little when migrating but I find the new format to make much more sense than the old one, so everything at least flows much more properly now.

    Thanks for this example.
Keep us updated about the Youtube channel videos. I'm sure that will be a nice supporting addition to prospective students, me included!

Looks like we now have a new program director. I wonder what, if any, effects this will have.

You must take DSRT 930 and DSRT 931 by themselves. All other DSRT courses can be paired with other courses: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/university-of-the-cumberlands-online-phd-in-information-technology.51422/page-26#post-600635

Wingshot's correct. You can take other courses all the way up to DSRT-839. Keep in mind that 839 is absolute brutality in comparison to any other course. I cannot overstate how difficult 839 is.

Also note the sequence of the courses taken. I believe everything pre-736 can be taken in any order, but the final four courses much be taken sequentially in this order: DSRT-736, DSRT-839, DSRT-930, and DSRT-931. That means your actual dissertation takes a minimum of four semesters.

I think I want to take one class at a time; it does not matter whether it is a 16 or 8-week course. In this case, I have time to breathe while accommodating my busy lifestyle.

QC puts you through the wringer for those wondering.

It seems the University of the Cumberlands does not allow to have a year gap anymore. I withdraw my classes in Fall 2024, I was told that I must return to Spring 2025 otherwise I have to reapply to the program. I thought you are allow to take up to a year break.

I had also heard of this one year gap. Surprising. I'll need to see when I need to re-register.

Yeah, you might check. If you are not allowed to register...it means you need to reapply.

If you reapply, does that mean you have to start over again, taking courses you'd already finished?

DSRT-931 has started. While I was very hopeful I'd be done this year, I had more than my fair share of real-life setbacks in 930 that have raised the possibility of a delay. I've even thought of just giving up entirely, but I'm staying in it. I can't stress enough how important a support network of some kind, even if it's just one person, is. The mental toll this process can take when coupled with the uncertainties of real-life is crazy.

Also, QC is brutal when you can't focus 100%, and the more QC checks you go through, the more delayed everything is.

Anyways, hoping to finish getting through QC in time to defend by the end of the year. I just want to get this done. When it's all done, I'm throwing my dissertation into the trash and moving on with life. If anyone ever asks about my dissertation, my response will be "I've moved on from my inconsequential school project and I don't talk about it."
