    Has anyone taken Spanish 312?

    Or, is familiar with it?

I am trying to figure out if Spanish 311, Spanish 312, or Spanish 313 would be considered 3rd year 2nd semester classes.

I'm planning to inquire with the department, but just can't wait to see if this might be a class I could take.

None of the University of Arkansas courses worked?

Thanks, I just looked at the BYU course. It was surprisingly affordable. I'm afraid I would fail it, though... it seems to be at the 5th year level. But, I'll keep it in mind and see if my self-study could possibly help me be able to pass that class in a few months.

I heard from UArk and they recommended the online class. That isn't offered this summer, apparently. I've contacted a few folks there and am still waiting for info.

The University of Oregon class seems tempting, but I've had issues in finding the equivalent at my school. UofO has 3 semesters per academic year, and teach 3 Spanish classes at the 3rd year level. I'm trying to work with my school to figure out the proper equivalent. Spanish 312 offers no exams (just many essays and assignments), which would be incredibly helpful. Finding a local proctor would be/has been difficult for previous classes.

You MUST talk to your school about this if you want to be safe. Don't just take the class and assume that your school will accept it. Some schools can be VERY particular about foreign language requirements.

A lot of east coast schools operate on the quarter system, as did Auburn while I attended (they switched to semesters for the 2000-01 academic year). Five credits in the quarter system is essentially worth 3 credits in the semester system. If Oregon's course is worth 3 quarter system credits it will only be worth roughly 2 semester credit hours.
