this shows out intent to work at the “daylight”.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

For your information and to satisfy your curiosity, we have updated and submitted postgraduate distance learning programs at Master and Doctoral Degree levels before Ministry of Education, for your knowledge in Mexico we have three types of modalities of study:

    “Modalidad Escolarizada” (On Campus)
    “Modalidad Mixta” (Part time)
    “No-Escolarizada” (Distance Learning)

Most of our programs were “Escolarizados” (on campus) for more than a decade… however, recently we have upgraded to “Mixto” Part-time and “No-Escolarizado” (Distance Learning) we started updating graduate level and we are currently working on undergraduate level at distance learning as well, please double check and you will find that published already, our ministry of education allow us to promote the programs while they are in the process of recognition, that usually takes 60 to 90b business days.

Furthermore, we are working closely with Embassies and Local Ministry of Educations, as is the case of Europe, UAE and India.

India specifically, this August we made onsite visits and coordination procedures with the Association of Indian Universities, the nodal agency for granting academic equivalence to the degrees awarded by the accredited foreign universities (similar to Naric).

Likewise, we have the support of the Mexican Embassy at New Delhi, aware of our operations and educational activities; this shows out intent to work at the “daylight”.

In addition, according the Mexican Higher Education laws Universidad Azteca is authorized to award degrees with RVOE and own academic and professional higher degrees of the university called “grados propios” (own degrees) without official recognition according to the law 59 of the General Educational Law in Mexico.

Our official notification of the Registry as Educational Establishments, 9 April 1999, No. 15-00084: registered in the first section of the Book 71-VIII of Educational Institutions, on page 129, as a Private Institution with Recognition of the Official Validity of Studies, awarded by the General Directorate of Higher Education of the Sub-Secretary of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Secretary of Public Education SEP.

Decree of the Registry of Educational Establishments, 9 April 1999, No. 15-00084: that the Educational Institution has an authorization to conduct studies of the type “Superior”; that the Educational Centre can award titles and degrees in conformity with those established in Article 60 of the General Law of Education and 18 of the Law for the Coordination of Higher Education.

Finally in reference to our India educational relationship, we are working on behalf the Agreement between the government of India and the government of Mexico in cooperation in the fields of science and technology -- New Delhi, 23 July 1975, 2008 and recently ready to be updated on this November 2010. (India Bilateral Treaties and Agreements - Volume VIII).

If you concern on the small amount of time of our existence (15 years), I have to tell you that in our country the term “Universidad“ is a legally protected denomination and is reserved for those postsecondary institutions of higher education, offering at least five officially recognised Licenciado (Bologna system Master-level) or postgraduate degree programmes, in at least three study areas, including arts (humanities).

    Are we globally recognized?

This question cannot be answered sufficiently from abroad. Academic recognition is three things:

    - First, recognition of a degree awarded by a higher education institution for the purpose of continuing studies with the receiving institution;

    - Secondly, recognition for the purpose of nostrification of a foreign degree e.g. for a regulated profession, if national laws require the nostrification of a foreign degree by a domestic university; and

    - Thirdly, for the purpose of working for universities or attaining a license to work in specific field and country.

Our PhD is considered equivalent to a British PhD standard by UK NARIC, and we are recognised by SAQA in South Africa, we are also in the process of evaluation by a US NACES agency and Ministry of Higher Education Abudhabi, (UAE) as well as by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Council of Foreign Credentials all indicating positive evaluation; (!interesting for your curiosity?) We also are recognised by academia in Mauritius. Our professor-habilitation has also been accepted by the Austrian Accreditation Council as equivalent with a professorship by an Austrian university. Currently additional evaluation agencies are reviewing our course curriculum; so far I have to say we have received great response from evaluation agencies, ministry of education, governments and universities for acceptance.

I hope being sufficient clear on my explanation, and I look forward to provide additional details for your perusal.

As usual, with intercultural respect and understanding Spirit,

    Director International Programs
    Universidad Azteca International Network System

Since you are clearly here to represent this school I don't understand why you insist on posting anonymously. Your credibility would only be enhanced if you would come out of hiding. Also, if I've understood your post correctly, you say that you've submitted your DL programs for approval. Doesn't this mean that until that approval is granted there are not any actual DL programs?

Interesting. The director is listed a Dr Ricaro Savedra. He lists many degrees. If you are the Director could you please tell us where you earned your degrees and in what fields?

I think the degree needs to be evaluated by ECE or WES or other member of NACES.

They have the tools and the knowledge to evaluate the mentioned above degree equivalence to US.

The person who stated that people don't take Indian or Mexican degrees seriously is wrong.
India universities are among first universities in the world. There is fine education system there.

The same can be said about many universities in Mexico.

If the person meant Indian i.e Aztecs - native American Indians then I don't have any knowledge about such schools. Even more the need to check with NACES member services evaluation.
