Why do some people get mad when they're wrong? Who knows?

    And now you have them.

No one who knows anything about Union has been more critical of it than Steve and me. But being critical with the facts is one thing. Hyperbolic ranting is another.

Don't feel bad, guys. Squiddle tried a reductio ad absurdum with me on another thread, and I think he did the passive-aggressive "smart guy" routine on yet another thread (if it were more memorable, I'd remember for sure). And I don't even have a doctorate!:D :D :D

Yes, of course it is. It can include medical studies, cultural studies, and ethics, among other things. The field of lactation is far more than Breastfeeding 101.

Even basketweaving (which can take into account cultural anthropology, history, and art) is a legitimate doctoral focus, providing it is done at the doctoral level.

When I was at Union, we had a learner who was majoring in "Supreme Military Intelligence." Any adherent of Transcendental Medication knows that supreme military intelligence is (allegedly) how to save the world through TM. Is that a legitimate doctoral focus? Again, yes - if it's done at the doctoral level. I may think it's a load of horse manure, but it's still a legit field.

Another learner with whom I co-presented at Union was majoring in creation science. Some people think that's merde de boeuf, but it is certianly a field with a scholarly body of work, one that can be pursued at the doctoral level. Incidentally, the guy happened to be a Moonie and, blowing my own stereotype of Moon followers, he was quite brilliant.

So once again, all laferney has done, in his tradition of sloppy research and managing to offend people (which, I am certainly aware, I do far better than he, she, or it does), is insult those who pursue lactation studies.

Now, when laferney demonstrates that he, she, or it has an advanced higher education - and is more literate in presentation and logic, perhaps I will put more credence in his, her, or its irrelevant opinion.

Thank god these guys are such blow hards -I don't have to make a case against them or Union-the've revealed themselves to all the Viewers here. I can only assume that they feel so inferior that their degrees are from Union that they have gone into a rage at the mere suggestion that someone (and it was Dr. Barrett} would pose questions about their school. You'd have thought they majored in nuclear physics by the way they carry on! I can only guess that Union's lack of long residencies didn't give them the opportunity to learn socialization skills on how to interact with others. I haven't seen Harvard grads that stuck on themselves. I 'm sure most Degreeinfo.net readers have probably forgotten already twice as much as these 2 guys will ever know. And no its nothing personal , guys, with me either. I guess as Steve said we're just playing a game. Your turn .

Steve Levicoff and Rich Douglas agreeing with one another?

Oh for the good old days.

Actually, you are making this nothing but personal. Oh, and irrelevant. (I notice you didn't even bother to acknowledge that your questions were answered, again making it very clear that this has nothing to do with the issue. Enjoy your name-calling. And get a dictionary.

I like you - you have got it all right.

You have discovered the biggest BSers on degreeinfo.

When someone graduates from the least respected regionally accredited university they have to keep pointing out what a wonderful school they attended.

They draw a line in indelible marker immediately below their school, lest anyone actually should consider them
part of the rabble in the section below.

They are soul brothers of the schools 5,000 above themselves on the list and totally unlike those 1 below the indelible mark.

So you ask, how's CCU? All I can say is in 5001st place after Harvard. How's it up there at 5000th.

Very nice. And so typical.

This is the kind of comment made only by people with degree mill credentials, or those from unaccredited schools. No one on this board with an accredited doctorate calls Union "the least respected...." It's just "sour grapes."

Oh, and no one who's attended Union has called it "wonderful." Steve and I have been its harshest critics, mainly because we know what we're talking about. Dennis doesn't have the first clue.

I think you mean "had a concentration in nuclear physics."

And when someone is attending an unaccredited school, they have to make all RA schools look as bad as possible.

Well then which is the least respected regionally accredited doctorate?

I though Union won that honor so many times, it was awarded to them permanently.

OK docs, which school other than Union is the worst?

I certainly don't intend receiving any unaccredited degrees - it's all in the timing and some would say the backhand.

This is an absurd question. How could anyone possibly answer this? Besides, you made the statement, you prove yours. What indicates irrefutably that Union is the worst?

Rankings are so subjective and unreliable, that they must always be taken with a huge grain of salt. Having said that, the lowest ranking institution in the "peer assessment" measure of the US News & World Report rankings is Christian Heritage College (CA) with a 1.4 score. Union's 2.2 peer score is equal to or higher than 22 other doctoral institutions in the survey.

(Which, for some reason, always refuses to fill out the US News survey and always gets blasted in its ratings)

You've expressed an intent to let people believe that your future DBA comes from an accredited program because it will be issued by an accredited school, even though you know that doctorates issued by CCU will not be included in DETC's accreditation.

Later, you intimated you hope DETC will extend its accreditation to doctoral programs, that CCU's doctoral programs will be included, and that you hope you graduate after that inclusion. That's a lot of "ifs." Fine. Good luck. You still won't have a doctorate from a regionally accredited school. And it matters. The doctorate is the degree that admits one to academia. Doctorates from DETC-accredited schools will not cut it, just as master's degrees from DETC-accredited schools won't get people teaching positions at most (all?) regionally accredited schools. But why worry about that? Your house of cards has many, many years to play out. In the meantime, we get to see your petty, unsubstantive posts on things you have no knowledge about. It is to laugh.

Please don't say "you boys." Look who started it. This thread had nothing to do with anything Dennis could possibly comment on authoritatively--and he didn't. He just tried (lamely) to insult Steve and me. Dennis starts this stuff all the time. Please direct your comments to him, the instigator.
