UNC Greensboro, which is one of very few American university to offer AACSB-accredited PhDs in Business Administration online is now showing online PhD programs in Economics and Information Systems being available from their School of Business and Economics: https://bryan.uncg.edu/programs/phd-programs/ Total cost for out of state students would be $60,000 or more, depending on courses required at UNCG/prior coursework.
I have looked into the programs. I do wish they did not require the GRE though. That is the only downfall to the program as those pursuing it are generally mid-career professionals. Our prior academics and professional experience/successes should be enough to show our ability to perform in the program.
At least at the undergraduate level, there's a backlash to the anti-testing movement. They've found that the ACT and SAT do help predict success better than going off of grades, alone. I did well on the GRE, but it was a long, exhausting test. My scores are expired; thankfully, I don't need to take that test again.
That is the case for me. My scores expired and I’m certainly not re-testing…at least not at this point in my life.
Same. I was considering Greensboro when I was transitioning out of the Army, but not with the GRE in place, and other choices available. Although one should never say never lol!
I see for their IS PhD, they have comp exams (written and oral). I wonder if that will be a detractor for many mid-level career applicants if they're not supremely interested in a follow-on academic career.
