I’ve heard of Americans going to the UK and teaching on contract for 1 or more years. Does anyone know where you would start to investigate university teaching opportunities in the UK and if Americans are eligible to teach in the UK?
Some online opportunities exist with the University of Liverpool but in general, working in Europe is not easy as preference is given to citizens of European community.
I think the poster was refeering to on-campus positions. I would start with the Chronicle of Higher Education to look.
For UK jobs, try jobs.ac.uk or http://www.guardian.co.uk/education Competition is brutal, especially so if you don't have a UK/EU work permit.
