I'm sorry about your situation. However, he makes WELL below that so he won't have that problem, at least hopefully not. I really hate how the government screws people over with regards to getting money for school, there's no way you could possibly afford to shell out that kind of money every year. I wish you luck with everything.

Umm, I was just sharing this. I don't need help with anything. The government doesn't screw anyone over. These are all private schools. I know plenty of people that do shell out that kind of money each year, I was simply pointing out that some of those schools aren't worth the money. Don't make this about your political agenda.

No kidding. In fact, government counteracts this by subsidizing public education. You can get a degree at a state university for far less than these schools. UMass-Amherst, for instance, is just under $20k per year for in-state students (tuition, room and board).

Hmmmm. I might need to move this to the Complaint Department thread.

    just curious...

Thanks for posting this. I looked at the link on Boston.com. Most of those schools are pretty heavy hitters, meaning they would look very impressive on a resume. But a couple of them...not so much. They were okay schools but not in the same league as Brandeis or MIT. How can they charge that? Just curious...

Government also subsidizes non-public, not-for-profit, universities by not charging property tax (at least in California) and by providing research grants.
