Trump used the antisimetic term “Shylock” in a recent speech. This term refers to stereotyped Jewish money-lender in Shakespeare’s play The Merchant of Venice. Since then, the term has been used in antisemitic propaganda for centuries, including by Nazi Germany.

When questioned about his comment, Trump said he didn’t consider it antisimetic.

Yeah, it is, but the term can also mean a private detective. Weird.

    Shylock

Shylock is not a Jewish name.
Literary reference: A fictional character in William Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice .
In the play, Shylock was a Jewish moneylender (loan shark).

I wonder what scares people more, that Trump, who supports Israel and the Jewish people,
used the word, or that he might be scholarly enough to have read Shakespeare.

Okay, that last bit is comedy gold.
