"Modestly successful comedian". Isn't this pathetic? BTW, as much as I didn't actually vote for President Goloborodko (Zelensky's TV character that won hin the real office) and am not actually a fan of his acting work, he WAS a bona fide star and the most successful comedian in Ukraine, by far. In an interesting twist, there's a guy named Serhiy Prytula who at one point might have been a distant second Ukrainian comedian - and he now heads a major charity/volunteer operation and will probably go into politics the second it would be feasible. The presidential debate as a roast battle by two comedians of actual talent - that might be something!
...to my genuine shock. I might have been wrong to vote for his opponent (who was THE most successful President we had up till then, but also an oligarch with shaky commitments to transparency and rule of law). Zelensky earned our support during the war and deep gratitude afterwards (although I do hope there will be a new political party to either replace him or at least act as a strong opposition. No Ukrainian pol deserves unchecked power).
Funny how he's using "TRUMP" kinda like Conway and some never trumpers were using President* to denote their disrespect of his policies, personality and general character. Forgot who said "I don't think you're using that word in the same way it really means" (paraphrasing here)
