President Trump made an excellent distinction between:
    1. Vocational-technical training that immediately leads to high paying jobs verses
    2. Community college AA liberal arts degrees that do not open employment doors

For various highfalutin reasons, the term "vocational-technical school" has developed an unhealthy stigma -- and many institutions are jettisoning that title. Here is the progressive name change in this writer's community:
    1. Former name: XYZ County Vocational-Technical School (it was said that this sounded uneducated and "hill billy")
    2. Current name: XYZ Technical College (they still do not offer college degrees -- just certifications)

In the next 20-30 years, vocational-technical certifications and AAS/AS technical degrees are going to be educational pathways that will immediately open employment doors that pay livable wages, as opposed to liberal arts community college AA degrees that will not open employment doors. That is the vocational-technical distinction that President Trump was making.

No, he didn't. You simply made that up to make "I don't know what that means" not sound dumb.

What if I told you the same institution can offer both types of programs, to meet the needs of different people with various goals?

Maybe one could even make that point to Donald J. "I don't know what that means" Trump.

SteveFoerster, really? The distinction seems very clear. :)

SteveFoerster, the title is MSNBC hee haw click bait. How does it taste? The MSM has lost credibility and their days are numbered. Many "fake news" reporters continue to lose their jobs -- and some MSM networks could end up going under. :)

My CC AA opened up plenty of doors. I was able to be hired by two different government agencies and also by Met Life. CC's are not tech or vocational schools.

Abner, your AA would not qualify you for immediate employment into a technical-specific job, such as an AAS in radiology.

Abner, community colleges offer technical-specific degrees. The AAS and AS are classic examples.

It's perfectly clear to people who know what they're talking about. By simply saying "I don't know what that means," Trump demonstrated nothing whatsoever to suggest he's one of them.

But I suppose if you want to deflect that with another irrelevant comment about the mainstream media, knock yourself out.

    1. The title is from the MSM.
    2. It is more MSNBC hee haw "fake news."
    3. The President knows what a community college is. :)

He said, "I don't know what that means."

Oh... I see what you're getting at -- he lies constantly, so that means he does know what it means. Good point, me again!

    SteveFoerster, context is everything. :)

SteveFoerster, is that the point that "me again" was making? LOL :)
