I know there was a post in here a few weeks ago debating the SPSS software and TUI programs. As I remember, it was determined to only pertain to the Health Sciences programs. It even states that on the website. Well, I have corresponded with them regarding their Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and they are saying that I will need SPSS for that program as well. I just wanted to inform those that may be thinking of TUI, that they may be making SPSS a requirement for every program.
They sent out an e-mail two weeks ago to all Ph.D. students stating that they have changed the curriculum a bit. Now all doctoral programs require SPSS. HOWEVER, if you have completed your research series, you are NOT required to purchase or use SPSS. They are offering an elective class for these students (BUS 698 - Independent Study - Dr. Flaschner). This class will start with statistics in Excel and then discuss SPSS. They are trying to make the entire program more quantitative research oriented. They saw a potential weakness in their program and found a potential solution.
Yes, only for Ph.D. students. I recently saw a job posting that required proficiency with SPSS. It made me more motivated to take Touro's new SPSS class.
