Anyone who visits the "sister" forum over on InstantCert knows by know that they just upgraded to the newer vBulletin. For eternity, both boards have been the same format - if anyone is curious what the "newer" version is, you can pop over and take a look. As for me, I've already stabbed myself in the eye and won't be over there again for a good long while. It is - totally - completely - and horribly terrible. :aargh4:

THANK YOU to the powers that be for not upgrading this forum's platform.

It's interesting that you reacted this way. I don't see why it's any better, but I don't hate it either.

LOL well, I think there are settings that the user can modify, and I'm still exploring those - but for one thing, the posts aren't displayed in date order. So, when I post a reply to you in a second, it will appear at the bottom - that's not what the new format does. It shuffles the replies - unless I'm totally missing something, it's not in order OR reverse first order. ??

I didn't realize that. That would be maddening. But surely that's an easy configuration for the admins?

I *think* it's fixed or....well, I'm not really sure. There are a lot of user settings there that I'm not familiar with, and I'm just clicking everything. Seems to be *much* better for me now, but I'm not sure why.

I've been over there, too. Learning the user settings is a five-year post-doc fellowship; it requires Level 13 security clearance and an IT Master's going in. As top-secret as Facebook privacy settings. I don't like it any more than you do. I thought only a Windows upgrade could get me this upset.
