Is a letter grade awarded for Thomas Edison State College exams? I'm concerned about my chances of getting into Graduate school. Is the general rule the last 30 credit hours must be letter graded to calculate the GPA?

    Hi Rhonda,

I believe Excelsior calculates GPA if at least 30 credits TOTAL are graded. It doesn't matter whether they are the last 30 credits you earned or the first 30 credits you earned.

Also, Excelsior assigns pass/fail to all TECEP exams.

    Hope that helps.

When you get your transcript, it will not include your GPA. But, if you need your GPA, let them know and they will send you a document that has your GPA. They calculate the GPA based on the courses that actually have a letter grade.
