With so many knowledgeable parties reading these boards, just thought I'd pose a question that I've had little luck answering by posing it to TESC staff or through reading their website. Their BSBA degree has 2 requirements, Business / Managerial Communications and Business in Society / International Business, that I'm not sure I currently meet, and I was hoping to draw on other alumni experiences. So my questions are: 1) Would a public speaking course fulfill the communications requirement? 2) What type of CLEP / DANTES tests or other classes have people taken to fulfill the society / international requirement? I'm no TESC grad, but the big 3 can be pretty picky about some of these requirements. For example, a speech class might have to be Public Speaking 1A or something named explicitly such for it to qualify. All that being said, I did a quick flip through CLEP, DANTES, ECE and TECEP. I didn't see any exams that would fulfill those two requirements. I would imagine TESC expects you to actually take those two courses. I'd recommend looking through distance credit courses offered at many schools to see if you can find those in a (hopefully not terribly expensive) self-paced format. The only route I can imagine for credit by examination would be to approach some school (I believe there is one in Ohio, but which escapes me) that is flexible about credit by challenging the courses.

Business and Professional Communication Indiana University offers the course Business and Professional Communications via online delivery.
I fulfilled the Business/Managerial Communications requirement by portfolio assessment. I understand they have changed their requirements in the last couple of years and made them more stringent. Back in '02 I specifically remember taking the Business in Society TECEP. I got the suggested textbooks by inter-library loan via my local state U. When I was enrolled the entire BSBA could be done by examination (CLEP, DANTES, or TECEP). Hope this helps.
