    All,

I've seen several postings for positions require a "terminal degree" for consideration. I know that the PhD or DBA/DM, EdD are considered terminal degrees, but I've also seen cases where some masters degrees also qualify as a terminal degrees.

Is the MBA considered a terminal deree? What about a Master of Project Management?

    Thanks,

As a professional degree title /designation … the MBA and MPM can be considered as terminal degrees; so can the MPA, MEd. /EdM., JD, MMAS, MM, etc. Nonetheless, if a position posting specifically requests a terminal degree, the position would more than likely be requiring a doctorial-level degree holder. If not I’d assume the posting would simply state MBA, MPM, MPA, etc. required vs. terminal degree (?).

My MFA is, technically, a terminal degree. But I think most colleges would treat it like a regular Master. Just a guess.

If a field has an MFA, generally the MFA is acceptable as a terminal degree. I've seen several job postings, and many of them specify if an MFA is acceptable.

MFA, JD and M.Architecture are all considered terminal. You would be hard pressed to find a school where the majorirty of the faculty in the law school or school of design have PhDs/doctorates.

MSW is considered a terminal degree, although with the recent increase in DSW/PhD in social Work programs, that is starting to change somewhat.
