Hi everyone! This question is for those of you out there that have taken TECEP's in the past. I took my first one yesterday and would like to know how long it usually takes to receive your score and whether or not we receive a letter grade. Thank you.

No answers, but another question to add to the mix.

How does the taking of TECEPs work? From what I could gather, you have to have the test sent to a local college where you've set up to have someone adminster the exam for you. Is this the basic idea?

    grades

Hello, It took my husband about 4 weeks to get his grade. There are several state holidays coming up so factor that into your situation. I would remind your advisor to send your results AIRMAIL. If you don't get your results within this time I would contact the registrar. TESC take the same 2 week break for Christmas as all state colleges. Hille [email protected]

Thanks for your reply Hille. 4 weeks is what they say on their webpage. However, I don't have an advisor since I am enrolled at Excelsior so I guess I'll have to wait the four weeks. Do you know if I will get a letter grade for my effort? I know that the exam has 60 as its passing score.

    TECEP

Good Morning, I check my husbands transcript. TECEPS are transcripted as credit only. Hille

Thanks again Hille. I figured that it was probably credit only.

As far as your question is concerned Randy, yes when you fill out the TECEP registration form in it you must include who your proctor will be and where you will take the exam. You can take it in a public library or in pretty much any local college or university. I took mine at Georgia State University. They charged me $15 an hour and it was a two hour exam. TECEP's are pretty expensive compared to the other exams but I had little choice in the matter since Excelsior for some reason discontinued its Production and Operations Management exam.

  7. steeler - how did you find the exam compared to Excelsior exams? I'm in the same boat as you - looking for a replacement for the discontinued exam.

    Guitarmark,

Thus far Human Resources is the only ECE I've taken so I don't have much to compare it to. But I can tell you that the exam was ok. It wasn't difficult by any means but it is pretty thorough. It has 100 questions that cover just about every aspect of Operations Management so when you study for it, try not to leave any stones unturned if you know what I mean. Also, I think I only needed to use my calculator about once or twice so there aren't very many questions with numerical answers. Good luck!
